On September 11 and 12, 2024, the AMI Plastics World Expos took place in Brussels, bringing industry leaders, experts and enthusiasts from the global compounding, recycling and extrusion industries together for two days of networking, knowledge exchange and innovation - with the aim of doing business and having interesting expert conversations.
The entry ticket gave access to the over 170 established exhibitors of the Compounding World Expo, Plastics Recycling World Expo and Polymer Testing World Expo trade fairs.
After the Compounding World Expo's venue change from Essen to Brussels, expectations were high, but the flow of visitors was modest. The Brussels location was significantly less attended than the Essen location in previous years. The change of venue did not succeed in attracting additional visitors from the Benelux region.
The fair offered the opportunity for presentation and networking, but customer activity was overall rather subdued.
Among the exhibitors, all machine manufacturers (apart from Maris) were represented. Coperion had, as always, the largest booth, but was also very disappointed by the visitor numbers.
