Precision. Performance. Longevity.
PLATE TECHNOLOGY
One technology – diverse applications
Press Tools
Our press plates and carrier plates are used wherever the highest requirements are placed on pressure distribution, temperature control, and surface quality:
- CCL (Copper Clad Laminate)
For demanding circuit-board applications with maximum dimensional accuracy.
- Decor & Veneer
Uniform press patterns, stable processes, excellent surface quality.
- Technical Laminates
For applications where process reliability and reproducibility are critical.
- Multilayer PCB
Perfect flatness for complex layer build-ups and reproducible results.
A fast-moving industry with constantly growing requirements that calls for a reliable and flexible partner. C.A.PICARD® has been meeting this challenge for decades and has established itself as the market leader.
We don't sell plates.
We deliver performance for your press process.
Carrier Plates
Wherever lamination takes place under heat and pressure, our carrier plates ensure process stability and reproducible results.
Our carrier plates stabilize and optimize press packages across a wide range of lamination processes. We support your high-temperature press processes through targeted heat treatment and well-founded material know-how. Through our high-precision parts, we ensure uniform material distribution.
- Stabilization of laminate stacks
- Support for high-temperature press processes
- Ensuring uniform material distribution
Press Plates
We manufacture our press plates for industrial applications in which tolerances are not a matter for negotiation. Where the highest precision is required, we deliver solutions you can rely on permanently. Tight manufacturing tolerances form the basis for consistently exact results, even under the most demanding production conditions.
For maximum performance we rely on high-quality materials. They are selected specifically for continuous industrial use. A controlled heat treatment ensures optimum material properties and long-term dimensional stability. Precision-ground surfaces ensure even pressure distribution and contribute decisively to the quality of the end product.
It goes without saying that we document the quality of our processes. We thereby ensure that every production step is traceable, tested and aligned with the highest standards. We understand the requirements of complex lamination processes down to the last detail, and think consistently from the end result. This is how press plates are created that not only convince technically but offer genuine process reliability.
The facts about C.A.PICARD® press plates, summarised:
- Tight manufacturing tolerances
- High-quality materials
- favourable heat transfer through controlled heat treatment
- Precision-ground surfaces
- Trouble-free production flow – also usable for the new generation of high-speed cleaning/brushing systems

Press Tools for Multilayer Production
The accuracy and quality of a multilayer circuit is determined to a significant extent by the pressing tool, among other things. In other words: the selection and design of the pressing tool are of the greatest importance. The pressing tool must meet the highest requirements with regard to the precision of the hole spacing dimensions, hole dimensions (for PinLam), parallelism and flatness.
The C.A.PICARD® transport/cover plates and upper/lower plates serve:
- the smooth transport of the press package
- holding the registration pins for pin lamination
- the slip-proof fixing of the press package during mass lamination.
Depending on the utilisation of the press openings, you can choose from various thicknesses. The high-precision seats for the registration pins can either be eroded directly into the plate or designed as replaceable bushings. Various steel grades are available, depending on the intended use and the maximum pressing temperature. For pin lamination, the combination of carrier plate/lower plate is ideal. This reduces costs and increases the utilisation of the press opening.

Separator Plates
It is not only the high loads during the pressing process that determine the service life of separator plates for multilayer production. The separator plates can also be damaged during handling and cleaning, which leads to repair effort and rejects at an early stage.
As an established supplier of high-quality pressing tools and separator plates for multilayer production, we at C.A.PICARD® have in the past invested a great deal of potential and energy in the development of a suitable material for multilayer separator plates. In doing so, the demands of the market were taken into account, as were the process- and product-related requirements in both plate and multilayer production.

C.A.PICARD Spring Elements
These spring elements considerably increase process reliability during the lamination and transport process. We offer two different versions of these C.A.PICARD® spring elements.
The 90° (with two legs) or the straight (with one leg) spring element fixes the press stack during production. The C.A.PICARD® spring elements are also an aid and simplification when loading and unstacking the press stack. The result is higher production reliability and higher productivity.
