C.A.PICARD® From October 16 to 18, 2024, the USA team participated in the first GIFA Mexico in Mexico City, which joined the long-established FundiExpo. The fair had 344 exhibitors from 16 countries and attracted nearly 5,000 visitors from Mexico, the USA, Canada and every other Latin American country.
We shared the booth with our new representative CastMet. CastMet has been the market leader for more than two decades in promoting machinery and materials in the Mexican and Latin American markets. With 18 service, sales and customer representatives, the team supported us in introducing C.A.PICARD® to the market and to potential customers.
Currently, the potential market in Mexico accounts for about 20% of the US potential market, but it is growing rapidly. Many industries are currently negotiating the relocation of their production from the USA to Mexico (auto production, John Deere, Caterpillar, etc.) and would likely buy castings from foundries in Mexico, rather than producing castings in North America and shipping them to Mexico to install in cars, tractors and heavy machinery.
An important customer will install our parts during the Christmas shutdown, and if they work well, we will get more opportunities to submit offers to them.
The next GIFA Mexico / FundiExpo will take place in October 2026 in Monterrey, Mexico.
