New and clean screw elements can be effortlessly mounted onto the support shaft. Pulling off used components, on the other hand, is challenging. Product residues can get between the screw elements as well as between segment and support shaft. If this material cokes due to the effect of temperature or solidifies on cooling, enormous forces are often required to remove the screw elements safely.

We avoid that: because C.A.PICARD^® has developed the "FD system", a specialised hydraulic pulling device. We offer it as a service.

The process is straightforward for you: you send us your support shaft with screw elements mounted. We record the existing configuration, professionally pull off the elements, clean all components, and document the exact wear state. On request, we reassemble the screw elements in the original or a newly defined configuration using the required new parts.

Also possible: you purchase the complete FD system for your own maintenance.

We measure directly on the twin-screw extruder and thus detect barrel wear early.

Anyone who wants to remain permanently productive must identify wear in good time. We monitor the condition of your barrels directly on the extruder line. The components are measured in the installed state, which eliminates the time-consuming disassembly. Only a clean and cooled surface is required to deliver precise results.

Through these regular, at the same time time-saving inspections, you safeguard your entire productivity. You detect mechanical changes early and can procure the necessary spare parts in a forward-looking way. This makes repairs and maintenance intervals significantly easier to plan and calculate.

We replace worn bushings, and if required convert solid barrels to a bushing version

The barrel is a complex and capital-intensive component. Even with advanced wear, disposal is usually not the most economical solution. If your barrel already has a wear bushing, refurbishment is highly efficient: you send us your barrels for inspection of the base body. We professionally refurbish the barrel body if necessary, remove the worn bushing, and install a precise new part. The result is a technically as-new barrel for your production process.

Is your barrel originally of solid design, and you would like to save resources? C.A.PICARD^® converts many barrel geometries retrospectively to a bushing version. This way, in future you benefit from the easy replaceability of the wear parts. This alternative ensures the longevity of your plant components and permanently saves costs.
